Pelly Lake Wilderness Outfitters guide area lies in the southern portion of the Stone Sheep range in central British Columbia. Stone Sheep Rams here are as dark as you will find. Mature Stone Rams average 35-37″ and 14″ bases in this area. Hunters can expect to glass sheep on a daily basis. We offer guided Stone Sheep hunts from the first of August to mid September with a maximum number of 2 hunters per hunt. Our sheep hunters fly into our remote lodge then horseback to one of our camps which are mostly cabins. With our sheep area being fly in only, access by the residents is very limited.
All sheep hunts are 12 days in length with one hunter per guide with usually a wrangler/helper. Sheep hunting can be very physical, hunters should come prepared to ride horses and be in “sheep shape”. Stone Sheep are only found in northern British Columbia and Southern Yukon and license and tags are mostly on quota, making them one of North America’s coveted big game animals.
